IECEx
PFLITSCH fulfils the international approvals for application in explosion-prone areas.
The IECEx Certification Agreement as global platform for reciprocal recognition and adoption of tests and certifications for explosion-prone electrical equipment.
Rules for a uniform international certification procedure to promote free international trade with explosion-protected electrical equipment. These rules have been published in the following IEC documents:
IECEx 01
IEC Scheme for the Certification to Standards
for Electrical Equipment for Explosive Atmospheres
(IECEx Scheme) – Basic Rules
IECEx 02
IEC Scheme for the Certification to Standards
for Electrical Equipment for Explosive Atmospheres
(IECEx Scheme) – Rules of Procedure
These two documents as well as further IECEx work manuals are available in the IEC Webstore free of charge that can be accessed directly from the official website of IECEx under www.iecex.com.
Objective of the IECEx Agreement:
It serves to promote international trade with explosion-protected electrical equipment by the elimination of the hitherto required double tests and certifications.
The basis of the agreement is to verify the maintenance of IEC standards for electrical equipment for explosive atmospheres in an internationally recognised form.
It must be ensured that these standards are implemented by testing laboratories (ExTL, Ex-Testing Laboratories) and certification bodies (ExCB, Ex-Certification Bodies), so that the assessment of a product provides the same result with regard to fulfilment of the standards in any country.
Realisation with Pflitsch:
PFLITSCH is currently conducting seven ATEX approvals. The corresponding IECEx certificates are kept under the numbers:
IECEx PTB 10.0003 to IECEx PTB 10.0009.
The pertinent Ex-TR (Technical Report) is kept under the numbers:
ExTR 10.0002/00 to ExTR 10.0008/00.
