The home country of PFLITSCH is the Oberbergisches Land - the uplands near Cologne. Run by companies of the Bergisches Land as a co-operative with limited liability, this private college offers young people the chance to gain a full school-leaving certificate while completing training recognized by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The scheme benefits the region's companies too, as it inducts young people into working life earlier than usual, and fosters the development of a qualified workforce.
