What is the principle behind the blueglobe TRI?

Modelled on nature, proven in practice: the secret of the blueglobe TRI lies in the triangular spring, which enables 360° contact to be made with the screening braid. The way this spring makes protective contact around the cable is somewhat like a school of fish, which reacts dynamically in an orderly formation to every situation. In both cases, it is crucial for all the many small elements to work together in a coordinated manner and behave as an integral unit. The many fine windings of the triangular spring, which are arranged to be a constant distance apart from one another, adjust themselves to the inserted cable and reliably and safely screen out electromagnetic emissions.

In terms of ease of installation, the blueglobe TRI also leads the way: the screening braid is first exposed, then the cable can be simply pushed through the cord grip, which automatically causes the triangular spring to make secure contact around the screening braid, without the pressure screw having to be tightened. The design of the spring precludes it getting caught in the braid even if the assembly is later dismantled.

Its triangular spring makes 360° contact with the screening braid. The cord grip combines excellent HF-screening attenuation performance and ease of installation with the other system features to achieve values greatly in excess of the requirements of EN 62444. Whereas Cat. 7A requirements in accordance with DIN IEC 61156-5 may demand at least 60 dB up to 1,000 MHz, blueglobe TRI performs significantly better, attaining values of 65 dB to over 100 dB. Even in the high frequency range up to 2.5 GHz, the values are typically a minimum of 50 dB. The cord grip also has a very high current-carrying capacity.

EMC cord grips from PFLITSCH in practice: from self-driving cars to racing cars

PFLITSCH’s EMC cord grips are frequently used in this field. Just recently, for example, two student projects opted for the blueglobe TRI from PFLITSCH. The cord grips were used in a self-driving vehicle known as the muc018 (Munich Urban Concept) and in a racing car designed and built at Vienna University of Technology. Both vehicles take part in international races and have secured top places in various racing disciplines.
