Innovative blueglobe®
larger clamping ranges reduce component diversity
Greatest clamping ranges, highest impermeability, best strain relief and unique identification – these are the features of blueglobe. PFLITSCH has developed and produces this series in brass and stainless steel in the sizes M12 to M85 and in plastic in the sizes M12 to M63 for cable diameters between 2 mm and 77mm. In this innovation, the three connecting threads M16, M25 and M40 are, for example, sufficient to reliably seal all cable diameters between 4 mm and 32 mm, while conventional glands need up to five sizes to do this. In the upper range, the blueglobe M25 attains practically the values of a next-in-size, commercially available M32. This saves the user costs and space.
These superior characteristics are possible through the spherical sealing insert made of a specially modified plastic. When the pressure screw is tightened up, it centres the sum of the forces optimally onto the cable conducted through, enclosing it over a large surface. The sealing insert sticks captively in the pressure screw and attains a pressure impermeability of IP 68 (up to 15 bar) – this is 15 times more than the standard prescribes. At the same time, the large-surface sealing principle attains up to 1.5 times the strain relief prescribed according to EN 50 262, Class B. The high-grade plastic of the serial sealing is designed for temperature ranges between -40°C and +130°C; with silicone inserts, temperature ranges between -60° and +180°C are possible.
The blueglobe range also contains solutions for ATEX and EMC. Here, for example, blueglobe TRI® is setting new standards. This new EMC cable gland separates the sealing and EMC screening from each other and thus attains maximum damping values. In the frequency range up to 100 MHz, over 80 dB is attained and even in the frequency range up to 2.5 GHz typically at least 50 dB. The ATEX-approved blueglobe Ex-e II in nickel-plated brass and stainless steel for the fields of application G (gas) and D (dust) comes in the sizes M12 to M63 with TPE sealing inserts for working temperature ranges from -40°C up to +115°C.
blueglobe also differs from commercially available cable glands in its distinct identification. Apart from the designation on the pressure screw, the applicable cable diameters are identified on the hexagonal globemarker at the insert sealing. The pressure screw itself shows the manufacturer, the material, the connecting thread and the CE designation. This comprehensive designation ensures the right usage of blueglobe in practice.
