The PFLITSCH LevelEx system – cable glands with outstanding explosion protection qualities

Laboratory-certified, proven in everyday use

Featuring all the required certifications in accordance with current standards such as ATEX and IECEx, the LevelEx ensures reliable protection in the potentially explosive atmospheres G (gas) and D (dust). It achieves tightness up to protection classes IP 66, IP 68, type 4X, which corresponds to the ignition protection types “Ex d” flameproof enclosure and “Ex e” increased safety. It has also passed both the pressure resistance test at 30 bar/10 sec. (minimum requirements) and the overpressure test at 48.6 bar. The excellent levels of tightness and strain relief are achieved by the complete sealing combined with the soft cable-protecting crimp, which are based on the two-level cascading principle that gave the cable gland its name.

The new LevelEx AC for armoured cables completes our existing LevelEx range. It features the same technical quality as the proven LevelEx for non-armoured cables. It also has other outstanding properties, such as an innovative design to accommodate armoured cables: Two opposing windows in the armouring clamp make it possible to immediately check that the armoured cable is seated correctly, making the tedious dismantling of the cable gland for testing purposes unnecessary. The result: simple, safe installation that saves both time and money. At the same time, the cable armouring is used to provide reliable mechanical strain relief and establish the earthing connection. A deluge seal with a test certificate qualifies it for offshore use.
