Cable management for GMP-compliant production environments in the pharmaceutical industry
Safe processes. Validated systems.
In the pharmaceutical industry, purity, precision and comprehensive documentation are crucial for quality and regulatory compliance. Even the slightest contamination or system components that are not properly integrated can compromise entire batches. Well-designed cable management is therefore essential for the planning and operation of clean rooms and pharmaceutical production facilities – with a focus on GMP compliance, process reliability and auditability.
PFLITSCH offers a comprehensive cable management system for clean rooms and sterile production environments. Our cable glands and cable trunking meet the highest requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), EHEDG and the FDA, and support validation and audit compliance through defined technical properties, corrosion-resistant materials and comprehensive documentation. CIP-compatible solutions also ensure reproducible cleaning results and minimise the risk of contamination.

Stainless steel cable trunking
The stainless steel Industrial-Trunking offers maximum corrosion resistance and is ideal for GMP-compliant plant layouts. Its closed, smooth construction prevents the ingress of dust and dirt and meets all requirements for hygienic design.
With various cover options and a modular design, the stainless steel cable trunking enables flexible and maintenance-friendly cable routing. The optional PFLITSCH dust and insertion protection further enhances process reliability by preventing dust and foreign particles from entering at the connection points between the cable trunking components. This minimises deposits inside the trunking, thereby significantly reducing the risk of subsequent particle emissions.
Your benefits
- Corrosion-resistant stainless steel
- Easy cleaning and maintenance
- Flexible routing thanks to modular system components
- Secure fastenings for quick, repeatable installation
- Hygienic locking technology: rotary fastener in a recess or flat fastener without recess
- Optional dust and insertion protection for additional process reliability
- Comprehensive range of machining machines and tools

Q&A
Pharmaceutical manufacturing is subject to strict regulatory guidelines and technical requirements. Here, we explain key terms that are crucial for the planning and operation of GMP-compliant facilities, as well as for processes that can be validated and audited.
Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) as a legally quality system for pharmaceutical manufacturing requires hygienic, low-risk and documentable production environments. PFLITSCH solutions support GMP through Hygienic Design, suitable materials and clearly defined technical properties.
International standard for clean rooms and controlled environments. It defines cleanliness classes based on airborne particle concentrations (e.g. ISO 5, ISO 7) and is crucial for the design and operation of cleanrooms in the pharmaceutical industry
A controlled environment with defined air purity, temperature and humidity to prevent contamination during production.
European organisation for the hygienic design of systems and components (with regard to cleanability and hygiene assurance) in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
Regulatory requirements (USA: FDA, Europe: EMA) for pharmaceutical facilities and processes.
Automated cleaning of equipment and pipework without dismantling. Specific cleaning agents such as alkalis, acids and water ensure consistent cleanliness in accordance with GMP standards.
Sterilisation carried out directly within the plant, usually using saturated steam under pressure. This ensures sterility before production begins and meets regulatory requirements.
